"Age is just a number"

Dannie Bulman on his hopes for next season and what's required in the division

22 May 2017

Dannie Bulman hopes that his tally of 44 appearances last season for AFC Wimbledon in League One can be replicated now he's back with the Reds.

The 38-year-old was a mainstay at former club AFC Wimbledon during the 2016/17 campaign and insisted he hopes to feature consistently again next season

"I’d like to think I’ve still got a few years in the legs," he told Crawley Town TV

"Age is just a number and hopefully I can replicate the appearance tally from last season again next year."

Having won promotion from this league with AFC Wimbledon as well as the Reds, the midfielder seems well placed to offer advice on what it takes to be successful in League Two.

"I think next year the division will be very open," he continued.

"That means a lot of teams including ourselves should have the opportunity to push for a successful season.

"To get out of this league and achieve you need a lot of hard work, everyone needs to be playing for one another and be playing for the manager.

"You also need a goalscorer too at the top end of the pitch, I think if we have all those things then we’ll be successful."
