John Gregory says Crawley Town will relish trip to MK Dons

Manager John Gregory is confident Reds can turn good performances into results – starting at MK Dons on Saturday.

The boss has been delighted with the quality of our displays in the last two games. He described the 1-0 defeat at Sheffield United as one of the best performances since he came to the club and felt the least Reds deserved on Tuesday was to take the Capital One Cup tie against Norwich City to extra time.

Ahead of the trip to Stadium MK, John said: “I can’t have too many complaints about our performance levels in the last two matches, they have been excellent.

“Sometimes in football you don’t always get what you deserve and anyone who saw the last two games will feel we should have got something in both of them.

“But in football only one thing matters and that’s the result. I would be delighted to go to MK on Saturday and not play as well if we came home with something.”

Karl Robinson’s men will be flying after they knocked out Manchester United 4-0 in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday.

Ex-Reds’ defender Kyle McFadzean will line up against his old club, who are coached by JG’s predecessor as manager, Richie Barker.

John added: “We came off the pitch on Tuesday and saw MK’s result – well done to them because to beat any side representing Manchester United 4-0 is some achievement.

“But Karl will know it won’t count for a great deal at 3pm on Saturday. We like going there. It’s a big pitch in an excellent stadium and we have good memories of our last visit there in April.

“The lads did their cool down on Wednesday and will rest up today before we start preparing for MK on Friday.

"The games are coming thick and fast at the moment. Sometimes that can be a bad thing but I sense the boys are desperate to get back out there on Saturday to try and maintain the standards we’ve shown in the last two matches and get a positive result, not least for our travelling fans who have been superb in the last two games.”
