Reds boss Steve Evans has confirmed he will release later this week full details of which players from last season will be at The Broadfield Stadium for season 2009/10.

Talks with a number of players, old and new potential recruits are still ongoing with Friday set as the day for the manager to give the Reds supporters some news but he did reveal that a number of decisions have been taken and they are as follows;

* Sam Rents

* Jake Wright

* Glenn Wilson

* Gavin Hurren

* Isaiah Rankin

LOAN PLAYERS RETURNING TO PARENT CLUBS

* Jon Shaw

REFUSED TERMS

* Dannie Bulman – Signed for Oxford United

Steve Evans was speaking exclusively to www.crawleytownfc.net on Monday morning and gave us the news as he continues his player discussions. The Gaffer said;

“When you consider we only had 18 first team players in our squad and with 2 of these being loan players we did enjoy a superb season. Injuries, illness and the unforeseen  absence of key players was the main reason we did not finish in a playoff place but we have lots to build on and it would be fair to say we have learnt a lot.

“I can confirm that Santos Gaia, Gavin Hurren and Isaiah Rankin have been released. All 3 lads have been great to work with and we wish them every success.

“Our loan players, Robbie Matthews and Jon Shaw have returned to Salisbury City and Rochdale respectively. Both lads were good honest professionals and we thank them for their service.

“Dannie Bulman has turned down our offer and signed for Oxford United. We made the lad what we would consider to be a top offer but that has been simply blown out of the water. Oxford United may be paying him very well indeed but they get themselves one of the best players in The Football Conference and added to that they get a great professional. On behalf of everyone at Crawley Town we wish him every success. On a personal level I thank him for being brilliant for me in so many matches. We had a super relationship and that will not change, he has handled this situation like a good professional and with sincerity that I would have expected of him.

“On the positive side we have retained the likes of Jake Wright, Sam Rents and Glenn Wilson. Add those 3 lads to the lads we have secured here for next season and that is a very good platform to build on.

“I have identified a number of players I would like to sign and of course discussions with them and some of the lads from last season are still ongoing. This all takes time but we want to get it right.

“The Football Conference is going to be even stronger next season and we will need to be ready to meet that challenge.

“By the end of this week I will have decisions from all of last seasons squad and at that point we can set about our targeted list.”
