Crawley Town Football Club today unveiled their latest promotional initiative for a number of
the remaining Blue Square Premier matches for season 2009/2010.
The new initiative comes into effect as early as next Tuesday when Histon are the
visitors to The Broadfield Stadium and all supporters will get an immediate admission saving of £3 courtesy of this new initiative.
Seven Conference Premier League matches have been identified for an admission reduction of £3 per match and again seven
matches have respectively been chosen for an admission price increase of £2 per match. These price decreases and increases are inclusive in all
sectors of The Broadfield Stadium (excluding the ‘Kid for a Quid’).
Regular Reds supporters, over the course of the season,
will not be paying a penny more to watch their team, in fact, they will see a reduction and that was a key priority for the directors as they looked
at the various options to maximise the attendance numbers and revenue streams in these severe economic times while at the same time ensuring our
regular supporters get the best value for money in the Blue Square Premier.
This is an exciting match day pricing
initiative that is in place at other established Blue Square Premier club’s so it will not be totally new to supporters in The Conference
Premier.
Supporters are advised that ‘Kids for a Quid’ is not
affected.
16 – 18 Year Olds - New Match Day Admission Prices - £5.00
We are as of today also introducing a separate pricing structure for the 16 to 18 year old age group to compliment the ‘Kids
for a Quid’. Entrance to the terracing will now cost them just £5.00. We recognise many people in this age group will still be in full time education
and therefore have limited incomes. In turn we want to make it easier for them to support Crawley Town Football Club. Proof of age will be required to
take advantage of this new pricing structure.

Chairman Vic Marley said; “We have launched this promotion and like
all the other initiatives we try it will be analysed at the end to see if was successful for Crawley Town Football
Club.
“It was a key objective of the Board of Directors
whatever promotional activity we decided on it did not cost our regular supporters even one penny more and I believe we have achieved that. Further,
with this initiative, we have gone one step further, our regular supporters and our 16 – 18 year old followers will now watch the team they love for
less.
“The Conference Premier is now a very different competition to the one we got promoted to and our trip to Luton
Town last Tuesday evening and our trip to York City tomorrow is clear evidence of that. We have to learn from established Blue Square Premier Clubs
such as Kettering Town and Stevenage Borough who have launched similar promotions and albeit it is early days both those clubs are considering their
initiatives as a success. They are two clubs that continue to do very well at Conference Premier Level and are run by business minded and intelligent
people who know football very well.
“The Directors felt it was
also very important we kept our ‘Kids for a quid’ entry point and that has not changed. We have to encourage and protect our next generation of
supporters and we will do that.
‘’ This football club is now in a decent
shape financially but it has not been easy to achieve that. As a Board of Directors you sometimes have to make decisions that may not be popular for
everyone but correct for the football club. That simply must always be our prime concern.
“Our manager, one of the best there is, has gained us needed but great revenue through the sales of players and as good a pre
season programme for revenue as any club at our level could dream of but we as a board had to tell him this week that another player was being sold
but he like everyone at Crawley Town Football Club must take our direction and get on with his job, however, we do of course understand his
frustrations.
‘’I must publicly thank everyone at the football club for playing a part in being financially prudent and of
course the owners who have invested large sums of money so this football club has a firm base to build on. That task has not been easy and it will
continue to be difficult but we have given ourselves a real chance of moving forward on and off the pitch, this of course must be done in tandem.
“Everyone at our football club will continue to work hard in what are difficult times
financially for a number of clubs. We look at the likes of Salisbury City who have just gone into administration and of course we wish them good luck,
after all we have been down that road and it’s essential we never go back there.”
We sincerely hope the supporters will back and support the clubs initiatives.
By doing this we can look forward to a fitter and stronger club competing at the highest level of football we possibly can but we must always make
decisions that are solely in the best interests of the football club we all love and that is Crawley
Town.”
