Cambridge United are the visitors to The Broadfield Stadium tomorrow and the Reds will set
out to get the 3 points that will keep alive their hopes of joining the fight for a playoff place.
Cambridge United are on a good run of form and subject to
midfielder Paul Carden being available for selection they will be at full strength. The Reds will give a late fitness test to Glenn Wilson who
strained his hamstring in training earlier this week. Young Nick Carter will miss out with a thigh strain but team boss Steve Evans will have everyone
else available for selection.
Speaking on Friday morning The
Gaffer said; “Cambridge have good players and they, under Martin Ling, will be organised, efficient and work very hard so we know it will be a tough
afternoon.
“Our lads go into the match in a confident mood. Our recent form has been
good and we will again ask the lads to give us a workmanlike performance. In the form table we are up there with the best sides in the competition and
we need that to continue if we are to break into that top five.
“We work with the lads everyday on passing the ball quickly and when
we do that with high energy levels we are very effective and a joy to watch.
“We
need our supporters to get behind us and help us get a big win. At this stage of the season that is what is most important especially as we really do
believe we have a chance of making the top five.”
A vast number of Football League clubs will be represented at The Broadfield Stadium tomorrow as the interest in Reds hotshot
striker Charlie Ademeno continues. Southampton, Torquay United, Wycombe Wanderers, Swindon Town, MK Dons, Sheffield United, Millwall, Wallsall and
Scottish Premier League Motherwell have all made written applications for tickets.
The action gets underway with a 3pm kick off and
supporters are reminded that in the interests of safety to arrive in plenty of time to secure your preferred viewing position.
