An individual goal by Barry Cogan after just eight minutes was enough
to see the Reds claim all three points on offer against Cambridge United at The Broadfield Stadium, a result which keeps Steve Evans men firmly on the
heels of the Blue Square Premier playoff pack.
Reds young striker
Charlie Ademeno was watched by a host of football league clubs and his workmanlike performance will have impressed those watching with his pace and
power constantly causing the Cambridge United defence huge problems. In fairness the Reds have played better this season and came away
from those matches with nothing but over the course of the match the lads deserved the win. Barry Cogan robbed the United defender of the ball and
jinked his way through to fire a great strike low into the visitors net. The match went from end to end for a spell with Ademeno for the
Reds and Crow for the visitors missing chances to score but this was a very industrious Reds performance and a hard earned vicory. Mikey Malcolm,
Charlie Ademeno and Adam Quinn had impressive games but not many gave more than midfielder Eddie Hutchinson who was excellent and dominated the
midfield for long spells. Next up for the Reds is Altrincham who smashed five past Salisbury City and sit next to the Reds in the
Conference Premier table, the match is at The Broadfield Stadium next Saturday, 13th February, kick off 3pm. The Reds reserves are in
action on Tuesday afternoon when Championship boys Queens Park Rangers come to the Broadfield Stadium, kick off is 2pm and its FREE entry and car
parking for all supporters. Reds Manager Steve Evans has said he will field a strong team with a number of first team players
involved. For reaction to the win over Cambridge United and the squad on duty to face Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday afternoon please
